Eric Andrews

It is with regret that we relay the passing of Eric Andrews (BC) earlier this month at the age of 96.

Eric was a long time member of the DCRA, as well as Past President and Life Governor of the BCRA. He represented Canada on multiple Palma and Bisley teams, including winning both the Kolapore and Mackinnon Team Matches in 1969. He went on to serve as the Commandant of the 1982 Canadian Bisley Team.

Born and raised in England, Eric volunteered for the Royal Marines in 1942 and landed at Gold Beach on D-Day. Following the end of WWII, Eric moved to British Columbia and settled in Victoria in 1953, where he worked as a surveyor/Director for the BC Department of Surveys and Mapping.

Eric will be missed not only for his remarkable skills as a rifle shooter, team leader, and coach but also for his grace and friendly nature. He was a true gentleman and great friend to the shooting fraternity.

Our thoughts go out to Eric’s family and friends.

We are diminished.
